Dear L.A. Unified Family:
On behalf of the entire Los Angeles Unified School District, I am shocked and saddened by last night’s horrific shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our heavy hearts and deepest condolences are with everyone who was there, or who may have been affected, by this tragic and senseless event.
A hotline to assist families looking to locate loved ones has been established at 1-866-535-5654. In addition, crisis teams are ready to support in every L.A. Unified school and Central office, to assist students and staff in dealing with the aftermath of critical incidents. If a student or employee requires additional support, please notify a school or Central office administrator immediately.
There are simply no words to describe the profound pain and grief that is being felt right now throughout the nation. In L.A. Unified, we come together as one united family to support those who have been impacted, and to share love with those who have experienced loss.
