WHAT: Using Lego Mindstorm robots they have designed, built and programmed, more than 200 students from seven elementary schools will participate in Rally in the Valley, a friendly competition designed to show STEM-related skills.
Robotics is part of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum taught at the schools, teaching students high-tech skills that are essential to 21st century careers.
Rally in the Valley is co-sponsored by L.A. Unified, California State University, Northridge, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
WHO: Robotics students from: Stanley Mosk and Victory Boulevard Elementary schools, Castlebay Lane Charter, Haddon STEAM Academy, Haskell STEM Magnet, and Pacoima and Santa Monica Boulevard Community Charter schools.
