Classified Employees: Join LAUSD’s Classified Performance Management Pilot!

Over the past few years, the District has been developing a performance management and growth process for classified employees – and now is your chance to participate!

Professional Growth and Development

The performance management process, tailored for classified employees, is rooted in the Classified Performance Framework and follows a similar approach to the growth and development systems being rolled out for teachers and school leaders.

The process walks you through a self-assessment to determine your strengths and areas of growth, an individual growth plan for the academic year, and how to gather evidence of your growth and performance – all with support from your supervisor. The process is capped off with a year-end review and final assessment by your supervisor based upon information from throughout the year.

Opportunity to Participate

A group of mostly school-based employees participated in the first pilot of the process during the 2013-14 school year. This year, about 250 employees from several bargaining units are participating in the second pilot, with additional agreements for a third and final pilot in the 2015-16 school year.
The pilot is completely voluntary and “no stakes,” meaning that the results are informational only.
