Employee 'Thank You' Letter from Superintendent Cortines

Please read the below letter, from Superintendent Ramon C. Cortines.

Dear LAUSD Family,

As we prepare for the Thanksgiving break next week, I want to take a moment to thank you for all that you do – from our teachers and administrators, to our bus drivers and cafeteria workers, to our nurses and psychologists, to all of our support staff who give their best to make sure our students achieve to their fullest potential.

Since returning to the District last month, I have been reminded firsthand of the passion and commitment that you bring to your work each and every day. I know it has not always been easy, and I want to thank and acknowledge all of you who have put in countless hours to fix issues with the My Integrated Student Information System (MiSiS). I want you to know that your hard work is recognized, valued and appreciated. You are the true heroes working around-the-clock to make sure our schools get through this challenge together, and we are grateful.

The system will continue to improve, but it is going to take time and there will be bumps along the way. We are a team of tens of thousands of dedicated, talented employees across the District and I am fully confident that with your input and involvement, we will make MiSiS the next-generation information system it was intended to be.

Thank you for your patience, and for your continued hard work and commitment to our students. With your leadership, we can give our students the education we know they deserve.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and a restful break. You deserve it, and I look forward to continuing our great work when we return.
