October Safe School Efforts

LAUSD is committed to making our schools safe and supportive for all our students. October marks multiple efforts to support student safety including Bullying Prevention Month; LGBT History Month; National Coming Out Day (Oct. 11 nationally, and Oct. 10 at LAUSD schools); and SPIRIT Day (Oct. 16).

Join LAUSD this month, and every day, to ensure the safety and well-being of our students so they can achieve to their fullest.

As part of our overall commitment to fostering safe school environments, LAUSD has introduced a new School Climate Bill of Rights, Restorative Justice, alternatives to suspension, positive behavior interventions and support, and decriminalization efforts for minor offenses. Although the School Climate Bill of Rights is new, the District has a long-standing track record of supporting safe, supportive environments for our school.

In the end, all of these efforts help keep our students in class and on track to graduate college and career ready.
