The conference will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The conference is open to LAUSD classroom teachers, administrators, and parents of gifted learners.
Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead! Co-sponsored by LAUSD is the 40th annual conference and features keynote speaker Dr. Joseph Renzulli, Distinguished Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Connecticut and Director of the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics make up the acronym "S.T.E.A.M." The complex intersections of these disciplines impact learning in and out of classrooms as well as prepare gifted learners for a future world we cannot even imagine. In addition, they define the heart of the Common Core State Standards and what it means to be college prepared and career ready.
