Featuring the work of LA artist John Baldessari, the campaign spotlights twelve Los Angeles County Metro Transit Authority buses that go into service this week to look like traditional yellow school buses with the bilingual theme message of the campaign “Learn to Dream” / “Aprende a Soñar. ”
The Los Angeles fund a partner of LAUSD in its efforts to improve education, began the campaign to fund the development of innovative arts integration programs for LAUSD.
“There are no mathematics classes, no English classes, without art,” Superintendent John Deasy said.
In addition to the inspirational messages on buses, the campaign will have hundreds of pieces of art on public displays as well as 175 billboards of notable LA public officials like Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, LAUSD Board President Mónica García and artists such as musician John Legend and film director George Lucas from their school days.
