The Division of Special Education has reorganized to align with the new administrative structure of the Los Angeles Unified School District and has a new Call Center to provide better assistance to schools and families.
The Division of Special Education will have two primary units to serve schools, parents and the community: (1) Special Education Service Center-Operations for operational functions; and (2) Special Education Service Center-Instruction to provide instructional support functions. In alignment with the District, the Division of Special Education will have four regionalized Special Education Service Centers (North, South, East, and West) plus the Intensive Support and Innovation Center (ISIC).
All calls to the Division of Special Education, including calls to the regionalized Special Education Service Centers (formerly Support Units), from any location and for any purpose, will be routed to the new Call Center at (213) 241-6701.
The Due Process, Related Services, Compliance, Charter, and Private School units will continue to provide their services and functions as they have in the past. Contact these units through the Call Center at (213) 241-6701.
The Complaint Response Unit/Parent Resource Network (CRU/PRN) will continue to provide services and functions as it has in the past. Contact with this unit will continue to be through their existing telephone number: (800) 933-8133.
