WHAT: The HEROES FOR ZERO Initiative challenged K-12 students to create plans to help make their schools “Zero Net Energy Ready” by reducing energy consumption, maximizing energy efficiency, and building awareness among peers and teachers.

Winning schools will be acknowledged, and their work will be showcased. The top three schools will each receive $25,000 and eight runner-up schools will each receive $3,000 – all prize money will go toward funding sustainability projects at each of the winning schools.
