WHAT: Approximately 600 students from the Northeast San Fernando Valley are expected at the Adelante Hombre Latino Youth Summit, which supports the District’s goal of preparing graduates for college and careers.
The summit will include information and workshops on universities, careers, apprenticeships and other post-secondary opportunities. While the primary focus of the summit is young Latino men, resources for female students and families will also be available.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla, a San Fernando High School graduate who went on to earn an engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be the keynote speaker.
