WHAT: You either love it or hate it, but you can’t deny its superfood status and nutritional value. They make chips, smoothies and even tacos out of this cruciferous veggie. L.A. Unified is delivering a whale of kale to secondary schools to celebrate National Kale Day on Thursday, and to promote healthy eating habits and eating locally grown produce. A citrus honey cranberry kale salad, using locally sourced kale, is also on the Thursday menu at all secondary schools in L.A. Unified.
