LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Board member Bennett Kayser is pleased to convene today the first meeting of the LAUSD’s new Early Childhood Education and Parent Engagement Ad Hoc Committee. He is joined by fellow Los Angeles Unified School District Board members Monica Ratliff and Steve Zimmer.

Initial topics include overviews of LAUSD’s Early Childhood Education Division and the Parent Community Services Branch. The committee will review the Local Control Funding Formula as it pertains to Early Education and Parent Engagement and be updated on the Resolution in Support of Aligning Preschool Through Third Grade.

Notes Kayser, “Some of the brightest minds in early education are joining me on the dais as well as LAUSD parent leaders. I am honored to chair this committee and look forward to robust discussions that will move the District forward in both critical areas.”
