“I’M IN” to Perfect Attendance
More than $33,000 in Prizes Up for Grabs for LAUSD Students Who Attend School
LOS ANGELES (Nov. 1, 2013) – The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is partnering with Schools Federal Credit Union, Clear Channel Media + Entertainment, Cool School Café and other corporate partners to reward students with perfect attendance. For the second year in a row, the District is hosting the LAUSD “I’M IN” School Attendance Challenge.
Starting today, through April 2014, students can say “I’M IN” by coming on time every school day and staying all day, to qualify for a drawing of monthly prizes including iTunes® gift cards, amusement park passes, movie tickets and restaurant gift cards. The grand prizes of seven iPad® minis will be held in May.
“Studies show that students who dedicate themselves to coming to school daily are more likely to perform well in class,” said Superintendent John Deasy. “We thank our corporate partners for their commitment to the ‘I’M IN’ School Attendance Challenge to incentivize our students to come on time to school every day.”
LAUSD’s “I’M IN” campaign is an all-inclusive program designed to raise awareness about the District’s wellness initiatives to fight childhood obesity, as well as to encourage student attendance and dropout prevention. It invites the entire community to make healthy choices and support educational proficiency for all students.
