Voter Information on Props. 30 and 38
A Review of Financial Impacts on LAUSD
Two measures on the November 6 ballot, Propositions 30 and 38, affect the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Los Angeles School Board Member and Vice President Tamar Galatzan, who chairs the Facilities, Audit and Budget Committee, held a public meeting Tuesday, Oct. 2 in the boardroom at District headquarters, where materials, including a fact sheet and a slide presentation from Chief Financial Officer Megan Reilly, were shared with the audience.
Board Member Galatzan believes the presentation helped demystify the effects of Propositions 30, “The Schools and Local Safety Protection Act of 2012” and 38, “Our Children, Our Future: Local School and Early Education Investment and Bond Resolution Act,” and can inform voters while casting their ballot.
