LOS ANGELES (April 18, 2017) - The Board of Education saluted the administrative professionals who work in the District’s schools and offices by approving a resolution proclaiming April 23-29 as Administrative Professionals Week.
The resolution, which also observes April 26 as Administrative Professionals Day, notes the essential roles of the employees, working on “the front lines of our schools and offices, and serving as the first contact that parents, students and others have with the school, in the office, on the phone, and in the virtual world.”
Board Member Mónica Ratliff, sponsor of the resolution, said, “I greatly appreciate this opportunity to highlight the indispensable role of our administrative professionals. Every day in L.A. Unified, our administrative professionals pay close attention to details and quickly adapt to unexpected changes, while ensuring our schools and offices function efficiently. Their work impacts all of us – administrators, teachers, student, parents, and community members – and I thank them for their hard work and dedication.”
The resolution also recognizes the communications, computer, organizational and office management skills required of today’s administrative professionals. They ensure that requests and concerns are handled correctly, promptly and efficiently.
