I am pleased to announce that our Board of Education approved the appointment of Diane H. Pappas as the District’s new Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Planning and Digital Innovation at Tuesday’s meeting. As you know, in October 2014, I tasked Ms. Pappas with leading the MiSiS recovery effort, and she has done an outstanding job in swiftly bringing a challenged system into a workable mode for our schools. There is a great deal of work yet to do on MiSiS as well as the many systems the District relies on to serve our students. In her new role, Ms. Pappas’ purview will expand beyond MiSiS, and she will work alongside our Chief Information Officer, Mr. Khazei, providing guidance and oversight in further shaping the District’s strategies for use of technology in promoting its core instructional mission.
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Pappas to her new role, where I know she will be a strong leader and creative thinker, which is exactly what we need to guide our District in technological innovations that will keep us working efficiently and will enhance teaching and learning.
