Eastside Kindergartners To Get Head Start on College Admissions

What: College admission certificates will be distributed to more than 2,200 kindergarten students from schools in East Los Angeles. The third annual Great Outcomes East Los Angeles (GO East LA) ceremony will celebrate the commitment to encourage and support the educational success of the Class of 2029 to become college- and career-ready graduates.

GO East LA is a partnership between School Board Member Mónica García, the Los Angeles Unified School District, East Los Angeles College and Cal State Los Angeles. Its mission is to promote a college-going culture and greater educational outcomes for all students in Boyle Heights and East L.A., including those attending nearby elementary and middle schools. High school graduates who meet all academic requirements are guaranteed admission to East Los Angeles College and Cal State Los Angeles.
