Logan Academy of Global Ecology to Participate In Echo Park Lake Memorial Dedication

WHAT:       More than 100 first- and sixth-graders from Logan Academy of Global Ecology will participate in the dedication of new benches, tables and an Audubon Society bird walk at Echo Lake Park. Students will be equipped with special bird-watching backpacks as they use the park as an ecology lab. The Echo Park Neighborhood Council and the Edendale Library Friends Society have provided students with research and study materials.

                  Judy Raskin, the namesake of the memorial, was a tireless community activist and bird watcher. She organized the annual Audubon Society bird count at Echo Park Lake and was also an animal advocate. She was a member of the Echo Park Advisory Board, Echo Park Improvement Association and Neighborhood Issues Committee.
